If you are considering getting a new website, the type of site you end up with will depend on your input — the more details about the content you can provide me with, the better. I can make decisions regarding the type, layout and features of the site, and can even choose a colour scheme and style. The main information I require from you is:

  • What is the site promoting, sharing, selling or informing people about?
  • Roughly how many categories of information are there? For example an introduction, photo gallery, contact page, etc.
additional points for you to consider:

  • Primarily, what type of content are you going to have on your site? Lots of text? Lots of photographs?
  • What is the general look you’re going for? Plain and simple, fancy, formal, casual, pretty, typeface, etc?
  • Is the colour scheme going to be …. muted, bold, white, black, company colours?
  • Do you want interactive elements? A calendar, forum, online forms, search box, slideshow, videos, photo gallery, etc?
  • How about social media integration (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc)?
  • Selling products online? Do you need a shopping cart?
  • Do you want to be able to update the text yourself in the future (CMS)?
  • Would you like to have a blog, where people can leave posts and comments?

(I can assist you with the answers if you’re not sure)

and then .……

We will meet for a face-to-face discussion about the site design and your requirements. If not in person, we will communicate via email.

I will provide a detailed quote, and if accepted, you then send me the text and pictures, and I begin the design process.

When the structure of the site is completed it will be uploaded to a test area on the internet for your approval or revisions.

Upon approval, your site will be moved to the domain you have selected. And that’s it … your website is now ‘live’.
